Oracle delivers latest release of PeopleTools for use with Oracle Fusion middleware

1 min read

Oracle’s PeopleTools 8.48, the latest version of the PeopleSoft Enterprise ERP system development tool, is now available at no cost for manufacturers with standard maintenance.

Oracle has also now certified this version for use with its Fusion Middleware, aimed at helping users integrate to other systems and, in particular, at enabling migration to Oracle Fusion Applications. In brief detail, PeopleTools 8.48 provides an expanded ability to adopt a services orientated architecture (SOA) while also supporting web services creation and linking, and integration of legacy and custom applications. Oracle says that the web services functionality, including PeopleTools Service Designer and PeopleTools Integration Broker, will help lower costs, and ease the integrate path with wizard-driven configuration and deployment. Services published from PeopleTools Service Designer and Integration Broker can be used by Oracle Fusion Middleware BPEL Process Manager, while ‘pagelets’ and services published from PeopleTools can also be integrated into Oracle Fusion Middleware Enterprise Portal to provide a single point of access to all enterprise applications. Also new in PeopleTools 8.48 is PeopleSoft Change Impact Analyser, an analysis workbench that allows users to explore issues before taking patches or making changes to their applications.
