Oracle to buy Bharosa identity theft and fraud software firm

Oracle is to acquire identity theft and fraud prevention software firm Bharosa, adding its specialist strong authentication and fraud detection features for increasingly critical identity management.

By adding some of the leading real-time fraud prevention capabilities of Bharosa’s Tracker and Authenticator software to Oracle’s existing web single sign-on and web-based authorisation solutions, Oracle says it will provide the next generation of access management. “Oracle Identity Management ranks among the industry’s top solutions, and we plan to continue rapidly expanding our security business to provide our customers with the most comprehensive solutions,” says Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Identity Management and Security Products, Oracle. Bharosa has more than 25 million customers using its real-time fraud detection and multi-factor online authentication security solutions. Combined with Oracle’s systems, the firm expects to extend internal web Single Sign-On (SSO) to external users.
