The steam systems specialist Spirax-Sarco Engineering reported what it described as "outstanding results" with record sales and profits for 2010.
The company said sales were up 14% with the growth led by emerging markets and its Watson-Marlow pumps subsidiary, and that it had continued to invest in sales development and R&D.
Commenting on the results, Mark Vernon, chief executive, said: "I am pleased to report outstanding results for 2010, with record sales and profits that not only demonstrate the quality of our business but also reflect the continued investments and improvements we have made in recent years." The group was confident in the prospects for 2011, he added.
Sales at £589.7 million were up from £518.7 million in 2009, while pre-tax profits climbed to £121.6 million (2009: £90.2 million).
