High tech manufacturer Panduit says it expects to improve efficiency and responsiveness throughout its global supply chain, when it goes live with Oracle's Demantra demand planning software.
Panduit CIO Joanne Tyree explains that the goal is to increase the firm's forecast accuracy and accelerate its planning processes across 112 countries.
She suggests that the new software (Oracle's Demantra Demand Management and its Demantra Real-Time Sales and Operations Planning tools, integrated with its existing Oracle E-Business Suite) will result in a 10% improvement in forecasting accuracy.
Tyree says that, in turn, will drive more holistic and accurate insights into its supply chain. Other resulting benefits, she says, will include a 4% decrease in the number of ocean containers for shipping goods, so also reducing greenhouse emissions.
And she adds that Demantra will reduce supply chain planning times by 25%, so improving the company's responsiveness to changing market conditions.
"To provide our global customer base with the highest possible level of service, we need to be able to quickly and accurately respond to their changing needs," comments Tyree.
"Oracle's Demantra is a key piece of our IT strategy, improving visibility into our global supply chain, and collaboration with sales and marketing," she adds.
