Paslin, the US-based manufacturer of assembly and automation systems for the automotive industry, has selected Delmia’s digital manufacturing simulation software to design production elements and validate the manufacturing process.
The company has implemented Delmia’s UltraSpot and is already seeing benefits with increased productivity and faster design cycle times.
“UltraSpot enables us to design tooling into the manufacturing process, rather than designing the process around the tooling,” explains Kerry Hammer, Paslin’s director of engineering.
“Its extensive robot library ensures correct weld guns for the specific task and its simulation function can verify the capabilities of a fully ‘dressed’ robot, including all associated wiring and cables … we can automatically place robots in optimum locations to minimise cycle time,” adds Hammer.
