Swedish ERP developer IFS has appointed Paul Massey to managing director UK, following former MD Alastair Sorbie’s election to IFS CEO, a post that he takes up on 10 March.
Massey has been in manufacturing IT for 25 years. He was a founding member of IFS UK in January 1997 and in his role as consulting services director was responsible for the implementation and support of over 150 UK and multi-national customer projects.
Sectors covered range from project manufacturing to process and automotive. Massey was also heavily involved in both the direction of IFS Applications, and the implementation and support tools used across all of IFS’ consulting operations.
“Paul brings a wealth of expertise and insight to IFS UK and the managerial experience the organisation needs to capitalise aggressively on its strengths,” says Sorbie. “His tenure in the industry, plus the breadth of his experience, make him the ideal choice for leading IFS UK successfully into the future.”
Prior to IFS, Massey was an accountant and worked for a number of major UK companies, including Lucas Industries, Dunlop Aviation and Thorn EMI. Moving into IT, he joined application software vendors Pansophic Systems and Marcam, before taking up the role of project manager at Avalon Software UK prior to its acquisition by IFS.
