The investment by Naturo Pet Foods, which produces natural dog and cat foods, has led to an extension of the factory building and new meat handling systems.
It has also allowed for the installation of a second high speed filling line, robotic loading and unloading system, and robotic palletiser.
The fully automated process has increased speed and efficiency of the overall production process with capacity more than doubling, the company said.
The investment comes as a result of increased demand for Naturo pet food products and a commitment to produce high quality pet food.
