Planned Storage Systems switches to Epicor ERP

Planned Storage Systems (PSS), one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of storage equipment for organizations like Asda, B&Q and Exel Logistics, is to deploy Epicor Software’s Vantage 8.0 ERP system.

“We used Tetra CS3 for a number of years and it offered us competent financials but lacked the more advanced lean manufacturing and logistics capabilities we need to grow our business,” says James Delap, CEO of Hi-Lo PSS Group. “We are in the process of expanding our manufacturing capability into Romania, which provided us with a perfect opportunity to deploy a new ERP solution that was more suited to our manufacturing and resource planning needs.” PSS began its selection process in March this year and reached a shortlist of three from Epicor, Exact and Sage. “Overall, Epicor provided the best fit for our current operational needs, with the ability to deliver modular upgrades to support the rapid expansion of our business. Epicor, and especially its Scala division, also had a good understanding of tailoring the system to meet the needs of trading within Romania as well as localisation for other countries within Europe,” says Delap. PSS will deploy Epicor Vantage 8.0 manufacturing and scheduling alongside Epicor iScala financials at its UK and Romanian sites by November this year. A further more advanced implementation of additional planning, CRM (customer relationship management) and SRM (supplier relationship management) modules will follow early in 2007.
