Polymer Vision wins 3GSM Global Award for Technology Innovation

New rollable displays from Polymer Vision won the 3GSM Innovation Award for Most Innovative Technology Development at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona this week.

Aimed at the mobile industry, the company’s technology allows displays to be larger than the devices themselves. It means that large displays can, for the first time, fit in small pocket-size devices – meaning the potential more comfortable access to all sorts of digital content on the move. Indeed, Polymer Vision has already announced Readius, its own pocket-size PDA with rollable display. The device, due out this year, is optimised for reading and instant access to information any time, anywhere, offering “paper like reading experience, wireless broadband connectivity and exceptional usage time between battery charges.” The telecoms and high tech industries say this development marks another watershed. The likelihood is that it will stimulate new growth in content on-demand, including in the media and advertising worlds but also industry and business. “Polymer Vision took the initiative to introduce rollable displays to the world so we are delighted to win this award,” said Karl McGoldrick, CEO of Polymer Vision. “We see the award as an endorsement of both our unique technology and our strategy.”
