Polyseam streamlines production with rented ERP

Sealants, adhesives and fillers manufacturer Polyseam says it has reduced inventory by 60% and improved stock accuracy from 88% to 99.9% since going live with Rent-IT’s 123mrp.Net software.

Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, the company says it chose the rented system over conventional ERP systems costing £90,000 – and is now paying £700 per month, following initial training, which cost £1985. Speaking of his old system, Polyseam IT manager Neil Sutulic says: “We were paying £3,500 per year for customisation on top of annual maintenance. We also had several other in-house databases, which resulted in a lot of duplicate entry, leading to errors. “As options were added to the system over the years, menus became impossible to navigate. Reporting was difficult as you had to export all of the data you needed and then filter it through Excel.” Sutulic says the company initially took a single license, which it tested to destruction., while cleansing its data prior to migration to the new system and going live initially in July 2006. More recently, in May this year, Polyseam upgraded its server, using approved partner BlueChip, in anticipation of an upgrade to the latest version of 123mrp.Net. Sutulic says this will be rolled out across the entire company so that it can take advantage of the new release’s alternate “We have year-on-year growth plans of 20%. 123mrp.Net will be rolled out across all areas of our business, and will allow me to go back to focussing on our IT infrastructure, rather than having to get involved in day-to-day production issues. Reporting is much quicker and stronger. Previously we waited until end of quarter to establish our profitability. Now I can tell each day the amount of profit made – live.”
