Preactor, the advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software vendor, last month won a string of impressive contract wins within the discrete and process manufacturing sectors.
First was Cosworth Racing, the high performance car manufacturer based in Northampton, followed by a deal with British Sugar involving two if its UK processing plants.
And FMC FoodTech of Brazil, a company that makes orange juice extracting equipment (capable of processing up to 500 fruits per minute!), has also ordered Preactor’s scheduling software.
Mike Novels, md of Preactor, commented: “It’s a difficult time for many manufacturing companies not only in the US but also in Europe, and this has affected IT spend. However, tools like Preactor that bring rapid bottom line benefits to their users are increasingly in demand.”
Preactor now has more than 3,000 installations worldwide with users citing the following typical business benefits: 15% increase in productivity, 40% reduction in stock levels, and 60% improvement in lead times.
