Preactor 11, the next version of the advanced planning and scheduling software specialist's flagship software, will "redefine expectations and delivery of APS benefits to manufacturers".
That's the promise from Preactor CEO Mike Novels, who says that Preactor 11 builds on the combined experience of over 17 years development.
Improvements include a new user interface and a range of enhancements that together offer easier usage and even more impressive functionality.
Novels explains that the new user interface offers a new look and feel that allows the user to navigate more freely, intuitively and quickly between different areas of the system. Similarly, on the reporting side, Preactor 11 offers increased capabilities up to and including business intelligence outputs, as well as remote real-time Internet browser viewing, with more reports for users at all levels.
Of particular note is Preactor 11's so-called Materials Explorer, which provides an interactive, material-centric view of a manufacturer's production schedule. Its material flow diagram presents a graphical view of each order, showing the materials involved in manufacture, as well as related orders supplying or consuming relevant materials.
Since this is interactive, a planner could navigate through materials links from order to order to follow material flow through the production process and deal with any issues, such as shortages, changing priority of orders to overcome delivery problems.
"Preactor 11 takes all the proven success of earlier versions used by over 3,000 companies in 67 countries and moves it to the next level," asserts Novels.
"From manufacturing SMEs right up to global corporations with multiple locations, Preactor 11 brings even greater functionality and flexibility combined with an unparalleled ease of use. This is also shown by the growing number of strategic partnerships we are making with leading global software brands which will make Preactor available as a seamless integration with other solutions, most notably MES and ERP systems."
