Medical devices manufacturer Sterimedix reckons it’s starting to improve efficiency throughout its operations as a result of installing a new production planning and control system.
The company, which manufactures a range of single use products for ophthalmic surgery, is implementing a Jobshop 9.2 shop floor-orientated ERP system, and says it has already resulted in improved production control, speed and accuracy – and, most important, detailed traceability for all manufactured and purchased materials.
“We continually work to improve both our products and service, which is why we saw the need to replace our manual systems,” explains Nicola Cullen at Sterimedix. “Jobshop was recommended to us... Our observations … all pointed to this being a good investment for us, especially in terms of traceability as well as time-saving and streamlining operations.”
“Jobshop gives manufacturers the tools to take full control of their processes, reduce operating costs and increase profitability,” says Jobshop managing director Peter Roost. “The system’s analysis and forecasting capabilities enables them to accelerate their transition to leaner and more agile manufacturing methods.”
Starting with plan times and BoMs (bills of materials), Sterimedix is installing all Jobshop modules in stages, migrating data as it goes. The company expects to go fully live within the next three months.
