PTC World, the company’s global PLM (product lifecycle management) community tour for users, will be at the Renaissance Solihull Hotel on 14 November.
The software developer says it will be talking about the shape of product development in the future, what changes need to be made to make development processes quicker and more efficient, and which trends are most likely to influence IT architecture of the future.
Beyond that, latest developments with Pro/Engineer, Windchill, Arbortext and Mathcad will be explained, and PTC says that participants will see new products such as Windchill MPMLink, Pro/Toolmaker and Pro/Engineer Wildfire 4.0.
Meanwhile for those concerned with technical publications, there will also be PTC’s new service manual development software – based on Arbortext dynamic publishing and now on general release.
The company says it’s designed to help improve first-time fix rates, the secret being more accurate and relevant service information, with consistent content, delivered in the right format for the job. That, it says, results in improved service efficiency and reduced asset downtime.
The software achieves this by enabling users to configure high-quality service manuals with embedded interactive illustrations. PTC also claims that it reduces localisation costs by enabling re-use of previously translated content – eliminating desktop publishing costs.
In brief detail, the service manual application includes capabilities to create text and interactive graphics, with collaboration, content management and configuration conducted as a team effort.
