Data virtualisation specialist Queplix has launched what it's calling the Virtual Data Manager – a system said to "substantially automate application and data integration, and provide data harmonisation".

Mark Cashman, CEO of Queplix, claims that the new system integrates on-premise, cloud and SaaS (software as a service) applications quickly, easily and securely – and at a fraction of the price of legacy solutions, middleware, ETL, EII EAI tools and other data management solutions. Essentially, it's aimed at enabling a consistent view of customer, product and financial data, so that information remains accurate across software systems. Cashman says that, as a result, users achieve "far greater agility, cost savings and rapid return on their investment – up to 75%". "For the first time, organisations have a data management capability that keeps the most important asset in any enterprise, information, in alignment and secure," says Cashman. "Virtual Data Manager is creating a new paradigm for data management that removes the complexity and cost of integrating and managing multiple silos of legacy and enterprise applications and data," he adds. Cashman insists that integrating all key applications with QVDM will result in "enhanced operating effectiveness and gather the additional reward of a strong return on investment".
