Year-on-year commercial aircraft deliveries increased by a record 14% in January, according to aerospace trade organisation the ADS Group.
The data shows that 84 aircraft were delivered in January 2014 compared to 74 in the same month last year
The figures also show that a total of 64 aircraft orders and 244 engine orders were placed last month, bringing the total order backlog to 11,269 aircraft and 20,030 engines.
ADS said: "This continuity of demand equates to more than nine years work in hand and will support many thousands of high value, skilled jobs in the UK well into the future."
Paul Everitt, chief executive of ADS, added: "Overall, the mood is a positive one for 2014. The work of the Aerospace Growth Partnership continues apace and just last week Stephen Henwood was appointed to lead the Aerospace Technology Institute.
"We are also looking forward to the Farnborough International Airshow later this year, offering UK companies an opportunity showcase world-leading aerospace technology to many hundreds of prospective customers."
