The Coventry-based company, which produces window regulators and seat structures for a number of global car makers, has seen its turnover rise by nearly a third to £195 million over the past 12 months. As a result of the unprecedented demand, Brose have increased their workforce by 250 to 900 employees, and are continuing to grow their graduate and apprentice programmes.
With annual turnover of almost £5.5bn, Brose is the world’s fifth-largest family-owned automotive supplier, with over 24,000 employees at 60 locations in 23 countries across the globe. Every other new vehicle produced worldwide features at least one Brose product.
Juergen Zahl, managing director of Brose UK, said: “When you look at how much work we have secured, I think it is fair to say we have taken a far greater proportion of the domestic growth than we first envisaged.”
Commenting on the uncertainty that is affecting the UK’s automotive industry in the wake of Brexit, Zahl added: “Brexit has dominated the news in recent months, but it has been business as usual for us in the short-term, with customer volumes all increasing. The Group is firmly committed to Coventry and to ensuring we have the resources, technology and capability to continue to grow in line with the UK automotive sector.”
