This year will give 20 candidates the chance the join the team at the company’s site in Goodwood, West Sussex. Each apprenticeship will last for up to four years and successful candidates will be able to build a career through completing nationally recognised college courses and on-the-job training at Rolls-Royce. Several local colleges have signed up to help with the course.
Successful candidates will join the programme in August this year, working alongside highly skilled craftspeople in leather, wood, paint, engineering and assembly roles. Since the Apprenticeship Programme was launched just over a decade ago, over 100 people have undertaken it. Many previous apprentices now hold leadership roles at the company.
“We are committed to developing future talent at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and I am especially pleased that we will welcome a record number of new apprentices to the business in 2017,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “The development of artisanal craft skills at our centre of excellence here in West Sussex has been a hallmark of the first successful chapter in the renaissance of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.”
In addition to the apprenticeship programme, the company employed around 100 university students on industrial placements through 2016, for which they are also recruiting for this year.
