Lincolnshire-based Winfield Engineering has become the new owner of Red Rhino Crushers, which went into administration in October 2008 and subsequently became Recycling Product trading as Red Rhino Crushers following the purchase of its assets.
Now, the continued manufacture of the Red Rhino crusher range has been ensured following its acquisition by Winfield, a second generation family fabrication and engineering business.
Managing director Simon Winfield (pictured) said: “My team and I really look forward being part of the manufacturing of such an established, innovative and green product. It is our mission to take the Red Rhino brand to the next level and already have plenty of new ideas which will be implemented right from the start.”
Winfield said he appreciated that the construction industry had “taken a bit of a body-punch” but believed that an increase in enquiries indicated a boost in consumer recognition of the savings generated by onsite recycling. “The Red Rhino brand is known all over the world and is a vital necessity in the construction industry which helps save masses of money but also helps the fight against waste going to landfill – an obviously greener option,” he went on.
Winfield Engineering said it would continue trading and manufacturing the Red Rhino range from the latter’s existing premises in Aylesbury factory for the moment.
