Supply chain execution software developer Wesupply has added reverse logistics functionality to its hosted, web-based solution for more efficient and lower cost product returns.
Product director Andrew Hubbard believes it tackles one of the largest and most overlooked supply chain opportunities for savings and improvement, paving the way to move beyond the current mess of disparate disconnected, resource intensive systems.
The new system enables companies to plan for handling a wide variety of types of return, ranging from sale or return agreements through to ad hoc customer requests triggered by damage or malfunction.
Interestingly, the system’s agent technology also monitors stock levels across a network and can proactively recommend return of excess inventory so that it can be redistributed where it’s needed.
