Sage says it is broadening the scope of its ERP systems in manufacturing by adding in manufacturing execution and advanced planning and scheduling (APS).
The MES (manufacturing execution system) functionality comes from a deal with Osys, which now enables Sage ERP X3 to manage production tracking – covering everything from data acquisition and archiving to resource management, performance analysis, and traceability.
Meanwhile, the APS functionality comes from Preactor, which will now enable real-time, interactive scheduling, taking into account supplier problems, urgent, cancelled or postponed orders etc, and enabling optimal operations.
“With almost 2,500 companies benefiting from its solutions, Preactor is arguably the leading independent solution provider in this area,” says Valérie Goulevitch, European marketing director for Preactor.
