Andover based Shenton Capital, which owns Scorpion Power Systems, Merlin Power Management, Powercall UK and Celtaire Air Conditioning Solutions, has announced that it has purchased Lowestoft based LTH Industrial Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

A capital projects business specialising in the delivery of complex power and cooling projects particularly in the defence industry, LTH has been merged with Scorpion Power Systems, forming its technical services division. By acquiring the skills base of LTH, Scorpion and the other Shenton group companies are now able to offer a broader range of capabilities. The acquisition means that Scorpion - which has built its reputation on providing standby and prime power systems for the military, IT, healthcare, commercial and telecoms markets - has added to its footprint in the power market. Scorpion general manager Derek Barry said there had always been great synergy between LTH and Scorpion which had included some very successful joint projects. What is now Scorpion Power Systems’ technical services division will continue to operate at LTH Industrial Solutions premises in Lowestoft, Suffolk and will be managed by Marcus Dodsworth the previous owner of LTH Industrial Solutions. He said LTH had been involved with Scorpion for several years as both a customer and supplier and the merger was a natural progression during a period of growth for both companies.
