Manufacturing managers are being offered the chance to tour the UK's number one factory- Parker Hannifin in Birtley, Tyne & Wear- to pick up best practice tips.
WM has teamed up with Cranfield University to offer an exclusive behind the scenes tour on 1 December at the plant named Britain's Best Factory at the Best Factory Awards 2011.
Manufacturing managers are also being offered the chance to tour Camfil Farr's Haslingden site- which scooped three Best Factory Awards this year- on 6 December.
Parker Hannifin scooped the top BFA accolade after wowing the judges with its rigorous delivery of strategic goals and a commitment to semi-autonomy on the shopfloor.
The factory smashed sales targets by over five times, boosted productivity by 11% and cut inventory by 10%
Parker Hannifin manufacturers filters used to combat microbes in yoghurts and fight hospital infections.
Fellow filter manufacturer Camfil Farr won the Best Engineering prize and highly commended awards for Health and Safety and Environmental practice at the Best Factory Awards.
The site won praise for its Green Tornado continuous improvement drive, which has helped cut lead times and enhance productivity.
Each tour costs £350 per person and multiple booking discounts are available on request.
