Global engineering services firm Segula Technologies group says it expects to start streamlining service management when it goes live with its first implementation of IFS Applications at its French HQ.
Deployment outside France and into its manufacturing heartland, serving organisations such as ABB, Airbus, Alstom and Renault, is set to continue throughout this year under a SKr 20 million contract.
Ronan Ansquer, Segula CIO says that IFS Applications will manage and support deployment for more than 5,500 engineers, with the system providing access to project management resources, including time reporting and expenses through a new employee portal.
“We wanted a complete, agile business software system that could support our growth plans,” he says. “At the same time it needed to be agile enough to cover the entire company, from individuals to complete divisions. IFS’ componentisation gives it the capacity to deliver a wide range of functionality within the same product, across many sites and customers, yet keeping the cost of ownership down.”
The solution includes core IFS Applications components that provide functionality for aerospace configuration management, project management, industrial manufacturing, HR portals and corporate performance management.
As part of the implementation, the Segula Technologies group operations will be able to standardise processes, making it quicker and easier to integrate acquisitions as the company continues to grow.
Segula targets a range of industries, including the automotive, aeronautical, naval and nuclear sectors. It provides human and physical resources across the value chain, ranging from design to R&D, prototyping and industrialisation, all the way to maintenance, repair and overhaul.
