Workers from Radshape Sheet Metal have successfully completed the Three Peaks climbing challenge to raise funds for Leukaemia Research.
Staff at the Birmingham-based sheet metal firm – which featured on the cover of Works Management's May issue – attempted the gruelling climb in memory of their colleague Barry Richards, who lost his battle with leukaemia earlier this year. The aim of the Three Peaks Challenge is to scale the three highest mountains in the British Isles in less than 24 hours – the Radshape team managed it in 22 hours 57 minutes.
The challenge took place on 6 August and involved 500 miles of driving and over 3,400 metres of climbing, and descending, in less than 24 hours. The highest climb, Ben Nevis, was first, followed by Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales.
