Siemens in Lincoln wins £30m South American contract

Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery has announced success in securing a major contract to export Siemens industrial gas turbines to Columbia's main oil pipeline operator, Oleoducto Central SA (OCENSA). The order is worth in excess of £30m and consists of three SGT300 and six SGT400 turbines.

Under the deal, six gas turbine packages and nine gas turbine core engines will be supplied by the company's UK facility in Lincoln and three Gas Turbine packages from Siemens facility in the US.

Gas turbines have been manufactured in Lincoln for more than 60 years and Siemens is one of the largest local employers with a workforce of around 1,500.
