Siemens PLM invites Solid Edge and Velocity users to join academic initiative

Karsten Newbury, senior vice president and general manager of the Velocity and Solid Edge business, says the company wants its customers to provide real-world engineering best practices. The goal, he says, is to help meet manufacturing industry's growing demand for high quality engineering graduates – and the expected result will be a stream of students graduating with practical hands-on engineering experience, using modern product design software. "Our Solid Edge and Velocity Series customers produce some of the world's most innovative products," explains Newbury. "They know how difficult it is to find and recruit new engineering graduates with the right set of skills and experience to quickly add value to their product design process," he continues.
