The tanks will be used to store isocyanates at an MDF manufacturing facility that is currently being built in Scotland. JA Envirotanks were chosen by IMAL because of their comprehensive design and build service.
Following advanced 3D simulation and design analysis on the mechanical stresses of the tanks, JA Envirotanks found that they needed to deploy a higher grade of steel when constructing the tanks. The company were able to make the changes without a significant impact on the production timeframe, meaning the tanks have been delivered over the past couple of weeks.
“This is a prime example of the success of UK manufacturing mixing new technology and the expertise born of years of experience,” said Neil Ferguson, director of JA Envirotanks. “By combining new tools such as simulation with a history of craftsmanship and expertise, these projects are turned around quickly and cost-effectively, ensuring this part of the supply chain functions exactly as it should.”
