A social enterprise in Norfolk has diversified its offering to bring a bespoke wire products range to the marketplace.
Norfolk Industries, a social enterprise employing 25 people, most of whom have a range of disabilities, has developed a range of wire product solutions such as point of sale display racks, product bins and frames, heater and light guards, medical products, sports carriers and catering racks.
Products are made to order from workshops in Norwich but standard items are held to sell from stock. Key customers include health authorities, pet product supply companies, heater frame distributors and retail outlets needing point of sale storage display frames and product bins.
General manager Sharon Tooke said: “We are happy to work with companies to develop and manufacture products and they are often surprised at what we can do. Our customers need quality products at a realistic price for their businesses. In supporting us they also fulfil corporate social responsibility objectives by helping us support our employees - it’s a great win-win situation all round.”
Norfolk Industries was set up many years ago as a sheltered workshop employing people with a range of disabilities. The factory is owned and run by Norfolk County Council with Action for Blind People overseeing the management of the Norwich factory.
