US commercial aeroplane assemblies and components supplier Spirit AeroSystems says it plans to use Right Hemisphere’s visual product communication software to generate or animated work instructions.
The company says that, following go-live later this year, they will aid shop floor personnel building fuselages in Spirit’s expanding Wichita, Kansas-based manufacturing facilities.
Spirit AeroSystems purchased Right Hemisphere’s Deep Server, Deep Access and Deep Exploration software, and intends to integrate them with its SAP PLM (product lifecycle management) software.
Deep Server enterprise software will read model-based definition design data created in Catia V5 software and stored in SAP PLM, and combine it with Spirit’s manufacturing BoMs bills of materials) and work instructions.
With this data and Right Hemisphere’s Deep Exploration client software, a Spirit manufacturing engineer will then be able to author visual routers – with the Deep Exploration software allowing engineers to create call-outs, set best views of models to aid assembly processes, highlight parts to be used, and animate specific parts.
