Matrix Polymers, which supplies materials for the rotational moulding industry, says it expects to improve supply chain speed and accuracy and customer service when it goes live with a £1/4 million Tropos ERP system from SSI.
Jenny Roberts, operations and financial director at Matrix, says that it’s a key plank in the company’s strategy to enter new international markets and grow sales turnover to £50 million while increasing gross profit margins.
She says that Tropos will be used to track every element of the company’s business across its three sites – two in the UK and one in Poland – and present data through the same system interface. And she expects it to provide managers with real-time reporting on sales, costs versus budgets, and efficiencies of labour and machines to help maintain effectiveness and profitability throughout the supply chain.
What’s more, the system is being designed to handle Matrix Polymers’ existing complementary advice centre for customers, enabling everyone in the service team to access and view customer histories when dealing with enquiries or trouble-shooting calls.
“Implementing the SSI solution will bring many improvements to our business,” says Roberts. “Our previous solution was too reliant on manual processes, so speed and accuracy were becoming increasingly pressing issues as the scale of our business has grown – and it is planned to continue expanding in the next three years.
“For example, new cost control reporting gives us greater awareness of what’s going on right now within the business – and we don’t have to wait for papers to be processed to find out inefficiencies that occurred two weeks ago. This means we can do what matters, when it matters the most.”
