Sterling Commerce fires up with file transfer management system

Sterling commerce is offering a solution that provides visibility and centralised management tools for business-critical file transfers.

It handles multiple instances of Connect:Direct, Connect:Enterprise and/or Gentran Integration Suite, and is aimed at improving quality of service and compliance with customer SLAs. Dubbed Sterling Control Centre, it’s said to remove the barriers of unmanaged file transfer protocol, giving IT departments a central point of control for proactive management. “Companies concerned with how to move large amounts of data need to employ proactive strategies to ensure security, compliance and efficiency,” says Frank Kenney, research director for analyst Gartner. ”By seeking better visibility into exceptions and problems, organisations can reach resolutions faster and are more likely to meet SLAs and compliance requirements while employing new strategies to prevent future transfer failure,” he adds.
