There’s a ‘black hole’ in IT security due to the spate of mergers and acquisitions, where security systems are left unsupported and become obsolete.
So says network intrusion prevention software and services firm Top Layer Networks, which is offering a helpline for users who feel they have been abandoned by vendors that seem disinterested in the solution they have acquired.
Matt Percival, UK business development director at Top Layer, says: “The security systems that [companies] depend on suddenly don’t feel so secure, as questions are raised about the ongoing support they’ll receive, patches and upgrades, and whether they’ll now face a hard sell for the new company’s products.
“Businesses that have selected solutions from different vendors to ensure that every layer of their corporate security is strong feel the most uneasy when consolidation occurs.”
Call top Layer’s hotline on 01483 243549 if you are concerned.
