Fault tolerant computing hardware developer Stratus Technologies has had its ftServer certified for use with the SAP NetWeaver integration platform, and, as a result, Stratus has become an SAP Global Technology Partner.
Testing was carried out by AddOn Software in Walldorf, Germany on the Stratus ftServer 5700 system with attached Stratus ftScalable storage.
Stratus ftServer system has already been used on a number of manufacturing-based deployments of the SAP xApp manufacturing integration and intelligence (SAP xMII) composite application projects, one of which involved 17 plants.
Indeed, Stratus’ continuously available server was highlighted as part of SAP’s vision of the ‘perfect plant’ at the Sapphire ‘07 user conference in Atlanta, in April. That involves a partner ecosystem delivering functionality, integration, data synchronisation and certified platforms enabling users to optimise manufacturing performance.
And Stratus ftServer systems are powering the Perfect Plant Centre of Excellence established by Tata Consultancy Services at SAP’s US headquarters in Pennsylvania to demonstrate these benefits.
