The eagerly anticipated event will celebrate innovation and dedication across the electronics field at its new location of IET London, Savoy Place on December 10, 2024.
With 16 award categories and over 300 attendees each year, the Elektra Awards is a calendar highlight for global electronics leaders. Once again, the evening will celebrate the exceptional achievements of esteemed companies, with awards available in categories ranging from power systems and automotive electronics to smart buildings and semiconductors.
This year’s ceremony comes at the end of a year of global progression and ingenuity across the electronics sector. The rapid advancement of AI and IoT technologies, along with their growing integration, is driving unprecedented connectivity and efficiency, transforming the electronics industry. The Elektra Awards will spotlight the forward-thinking individuals driving this technological transition, with categories such as Rising Star and Design Team of the Year. The evening will also look to the future of engineering, celebrating the brightest and most talented young engineers at the BrightSparks Awards.
The ceremony is supported by an independent panel of representatives from leading organisations spanning the breadth of the electronics industry, as well as industry and charity sponsors. This includes Swindon Silicon Systems, returning as the Design Tool and Development Software category sponsor.
Ross Turnbull, Director of Business Development and Product Engineering at Swindon, is looking forward to rewarding the software design company with the strongest technical capabilities in software design tool, application and software intellectual property (IP) development. “As the electronics industry navigates this period of rapid technological transition, software developers face unprecedented challenges in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” he says.
“At Swindon, our capability to deliver custom Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) solutions — meeting the highest standards of specification, quality and punctuality — would not be achievable without their enterprise and expertise. We are proud to be returning as a sponsor, celebrating not only our longstanding relationship with Elektra but also the global talent that continues to drive the future of electronics.”
With decades of expertise in the electronics sector, Swindon is a specialist in ASIC technology. Due to their application specific design, ASICs offer optimised performance, improving efficiency, limiting the risk of obsolescence and enabling stronger IP protection compared to off-the-shelf ICs.
