The Professional Mediators Association launched

A new professional body is launched for mediators in the UK with the backing of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and after discussions with Government (BERR). Businesses across the private sector are increasingly using mediators, following the trend set in the public sector.
A series of reviews and business cases all point towards dispute resolution as being best handled by mediation. The number of mediators is growing driven by market demand from all sectors of industry.
David Liddle, PMA founder and director of TCM, a company that provides training and mediation services, says: “We are committed to offering the very highest standards in training and post-training support. The PMA is the first and only professional body of its kind in the UK and will be responsible for ensuring that all TCM accredited mediators have access to a comprehensive support network and can demonstrate their ongoing commitment to TCM's exacting practise standards.”
