At the IMHX Technology Demonstration Arena (Stand 10H18), Toyota will be showcasing three new trucks and load carriers. The first of these is the BT Optio OSE250, a remote drive order picker that can be operated remotely via a simple control. This minimises the need for an operator to have to step on and off the truck between picks, thus increasing efficiency. It also reduces fatigue and improves both wear & tear and energy consumption on the truck.
The second product to be demonstrated is the BT Movit towing tractor. Toyota will be showcasing two of the latest models. The TSE100 tow tractor with step carrier is ideal for a fast-paced e-commerce environment. The addition of a step carrier provides the TSE100 with the flexibility needed for low- and high-level picking, allowing users to maximise their available storage space.
The TSE300 tow tractor is ideal for longer-distance movement of goods, and the replenishment of production lines. Toyota have added a host carrier to this model, adding a unique way of transporting several different carriers in a train at the same time. This means efficient handling of goods and reduced traffic – and, as a result, improved safety – around the site.
Tony Wallis, commercial director of Toyota Material Handling UK, says: “The IMHX Technology Demonstration Arena will be a great opportunity for our team to showcase the unique features of the trucks and create real-life situations, so visitors can see how these solutions could apply in their operation.
IMHX is held at Birmingham’s NEC from 13-16 September. Toyota's demonstrations will take place on Tuesday 13 September at 11.15am, Wednesday 14 September at midday, Thursday 15 September at 12.45pm and Friday 16 September at 10.30am.
