He began his working life in 1976, leaving school to join the British Army’s Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).
Advancing to the rank of Major, he was effectively tasked with keeping the army on the move – holding responsible for providing electrical and engineering support to all brigade vehicles in the North West of England.
Subsequent positions with the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Recycoal and Certex, furthered his expertise in training, logistics, health and safety, maintenance and operations management.
He currently sits on the standards committee of AITT and is a committee member of the Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA).
