Data collected by the independent job site shows that manufacturing roles saw a 2.3% rise in job applications in July 2017, when compared with data from the previous month. The findings also reveal that the number of manufacturing candidates registering their CV on CV-Library jumped by 15%.
Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: “It’s extremely positive to see that candidate appetite has picked up over the last month, especially given that application rates were down in June as a result of General Election uncertainty. Additional findings show salaries in the UK manufacturing sector also jumped by 1.2% when looking at month-on-month data, while advertised job vacancies increased 25% year-on-year.
Biggins added: “It’s safe to say that money continues to be a key driver for candidates, and the increase in application rates is likely due to pay hikes across many of the nation’s key industries. Manufacturing businesses are feeling more confident right now and with many having recently received their hiring budgets for the year ahead, now is the time to fight to offer the best possible packages in a bid to attract the top talent.”
