The Job Market Report by the independent job site, which looked at fluctuations in jobs, applications, and pay during October to December, found manufacturing saw the biggest hike in roles - up 33.3% on 2015.
This was followed by automotive (30.3%), arts/graphic design (24.5%), legal (15.6%), and charity (14.1%).
Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: “Businesses in the manufacturing sector have clearly recognised the need to advertise their vacancies ahead of the New Year rush, in order to attract new recruits and it is hoped that we will see this strategy pay off in next quarter’s data.”
The report also reveals that applications in the manufacturing sector were up by 9.7% when looking at quarter-on-quarter data. Salaries were also up by 4.6%, making manufacturing one of the top sectors for pay in quarter four of 2016, CV-Library said.
Biggins added: “2016 was a turbulent year for the economy, but the fact that organisations across the manufacturing sector are showing signs of investing in their current and future workforce is a positive indication for the labour market in 2017.
“We expect to see all figures pick up next quarter, as business and candidate confidence strengthens.”
