Performance clothing manufacturer Under Armour has gone live with the latest phase of its global supply chain improvement programme.
The organisation has now successfully implemented Manhattan Associates' warehouse management solution at its distribution centre in Venlo, the Netherlands, which is run by global third party logistics provider DSV.
The DC is used for distributing Under Armour's sport clkothing and footwear accessories across 36 countries in EMEA. Its decision to use Manhattan Associates to support these operations follows their successfully adoption years ago in the US.
Bas van Rijnberk, logistics manager for EMEA at Under Armour, explains that the comapny has also gone live with Manhattan's web-based Extended Enterprise management (EEM) software to facilitate accurate, real-time data sharing with its suppliers.
EEM allows the status of in-bound products to be viewed and updated online without any cost burden to suppliers.
"A big advantage in electing to use Manhattan's WMS and EEM solutions is that they were already completely geared up to support our type of business," comments van Rijnberk.
"Under Armour is expanding rapidly and it is good to know that we have a systems platform that will be able to keep up with that pace of growth, as well as keep us agile in the face of an ever changing external environment," he adds.
