Enterprise software firm SSA Global, currently the subject of a takeover bid by rival Infor, has entered into an alliance with logistics specialist Unipart to market supply chain management and business process re-engineering solutions to make groups with complex supply chains more competitive.
The pair say their combined solutions, experience and services will optimise supply chains and improve return on investment from existing system implementations.
Says Peter Prince, EMEA president of SSA Global: “Return-on-investment is crucial from any IT infrastructure and especially within supply chain management... This partnership is all about generating greater value for the customer and presenting an outstanding logistics and supply chain solution from an integrated people, process and technology perspective.”
John Neill, group chief executive of Unipart, adds: “Improvements in operational processes are one of the major drivers of profitability for organisations with a demanding supply chain. Through joint R&D and a combined focus on innovation we can allow our clients to receive immediate operational improvements and generate a greater return from their IT infrastructure.”
Unipart has a strong heritage in the automotive industry and has in recent years expanded that to companies including Airbus, Boots, Argos and Asos. The combined offering will be central to Unipart’s Advanced Logistics Centre, at the company’s Oxford headquarters.
