VT appoints construction chief to Board

Defence and support services company VT Group has announced the appointment of Balfour Beatty chief executive Ian Tyler (pictured) as a non-executive director.

He has considerable experience in international business, particularly in the United States, and has played a key role in helping to establish Balfour Beatty as Britain’s leading construction company. VT Group has been diversifying from its shipbuilding roots for some years, involving itself with projects such as private finance initiative (PFI) school building. VT Group Chairman Mike Jeffries commented: “Ian’s business knowledge and experience, especially in Balfour Beatty’s development as a major services provider, will be of great benefit as we continue to implement the Group strategy.”
