Automotive companies in the West Midlands looking to 'green their supply chain' are being urged to take part in a special event set to be held later this month (September 15).
The workshop, which is being organised by the Manufacturing Advisory Service – West Midlands, will look to provide 25 firms with an unrivalled insight into improving their competitiveness through embracing best practice resource and process efficiency and by reducing their energy usage
Specialists from Jaguar Land Rover and Brockhouse Group will talk in detail about what they look for in a 'green supplier' and how they have tapped into support to improve their own operations.
There will also be an introduction to low carbon assistance available through MAS-WM, including a dedicated hotline (0845 245 0845), specialist advisers, manufacturing reviews and strategic improvement projects.
MAS-WM's Rachel Eade (pictured) said: "The supply chain has a great opportunity to embrace the green agenda, but it has to act now if it is going to make the most of it."
She added that the event, to be held at the Confederation of British Metalforming's head-office in West Bromwich, will ensure suppliers get the right advice through an insight into what the industry is expecting, a combination of real life case studies and a clear gateway to subsidised support.
The 'Greening Supply Chain' event is one of a number of networking seminars planned for the next six months, all of which are free of charge for interested companies.
