A team of show dogs and their handlers will help teach the importance of good communication in any continuous improvement success at WM's Manufacturing Conference (WMMC) next month.
The canine helpers are one of the highlights of all new workshop sessions, which focus on practical activities that develop essential CI skills for managers.
Delegates will take a lead from Fido on the impact of positive reinforcement, enabling individuals and the recognition that should follow.
The session will be delivered by Festo- the industrial automation manufacturer and training specialist- at WMMC, which take place from 20-21 November at Cranage Hall, Crewe . Mark Hemming, senior consultant at Festo said: "As we implement Lean initiatives and CI programmes often our levels of communication become leaner too. But at what cost? Utilising Festo's Lessons from Nature concept you will be mentored by some unique and furry individuals on the impact on employee's of good and bad practice in this area."
Man's best friend will be complimented by a series of all-action workshop sessions. These include a Build it faster, build it better: Lego challenge with Mark Bown, CI lead at Cummins; a portable manufacturing cell rig from the Lean Factory Group and role play scenarios on how to balance your leadership style between good cop and bad cop to maximise results from lean consultant S A Partners.
