Collaborative approaches to improving manufacturing performance that rely on analytics and real time and history shop floor data, are now more doable.
SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and MES (manufacturing execution system) software firm Wonderware has released a trio of systems that use Microsoft technology to make it affordable and realistic.
The three are Wonderware Information Server 3.0, Historian 9.0 and ActiveFactory 9.2 – all of which use Microsoft Office 2007, SharePoint Services and SQL Server Reporting Services.
“These new software offerings make for fast and easy incremental additions to existing investments,” says Mark Davidson, Wonderware’s vice president of global marketing. “They include intuitive tools that provide timely information to help [people] achieve operational excellence.”
Wonderware Information Server 3.0 (what was SuiteVoyager), is a web-content server for all Wonderware graphics, reporting and analysis applications that integrates with Office 2007 and can use virtually any real-time data source or SQL database. It’s built on SharePoint services and SQL Server Reporting Services.
Meanwhile, Historian 9.0 includes advanced data storage, filtering and compression, and multiple retrieval modes, as well as on-the-fly data aggregations for real-time applications.
Finally, ActiveFactory 9.2 provides trending, analysis and integration with Office data, resulting in fast, familiar approaches to delivering manufacturing intelligence, says the company.
