Zero passes test case

A challenging request from new customer Didsbury Engineering for super light cases with a very short lead time to carry valuable aircraft servicing related parts has been met by protective cases specialist Zero Cases (UK).

"We were given the challenge of building a case which had to be very light, robust and able to meet Didsbury Engineering's aerospace related demands," explained Zero's plant manager Mike Dimmack. "The dimensions were 1.5m x 1.1m x 0.85m and the case, made of aluminium, needed to be strong, durable and the internal layout was specifically designed to meet the industry sector leading product to be transported." Zero created the case with minimal joints, parts and fittings in order to reduce the weight and meet the design scope. It was developed by enhancing an existing design, rolling the sheet aluminium and extending the design around the products the case would be protecting. The company was given three weeks to design, manufacture, and ship. Work on the first five cases started in the middle of April and by the middle of the third week in May 2012 it had been delivered to the customer. Another five cases have now been made and delivered. Zero Cases (UK) Limited is the UK arm of the American firm Zero Manufacturing Inc.
