“It’s fantastic to see the emerging generation of manufacturing professionals once again being recognised in the shortlist for this year’s Rising Star prize at the 2015 Manufacturing Champions Awards.
From aerospace and automotive to Microscopy, this year’s shortlist encompasses young talent, from some of the world’s leading UK-based manufacturers, who are already well on the way to becoming the highly skilled employees this country needs to ensure its continued reputation for manufacturing and engineering excellence.
At Atlas Copco Compressors we also place great emphasis on the importance of competence development, and run both apprenticeship schemes and graduate programmes to encourage greater interest in manufacturing and STEM orientated careers.
For this reason, the Rising Star prize is very close to my heart, and that is why we are proud to be sponsoring this important category of the Manufacturing Champions Awards in its second year.
Last year’s winner was an outstanding ambassador for his generation, and I’m sure this shortlist contains many more like him. I wish them all the best of luck in their endeavours.
