A new electrically powered two-wheeled handtruck was launched at IMHX. It offers various ergonomic features, and if having to make deliveries from your business, or move things a long way in your plant, could be of benefit.
Magline chose IMHX to launch its ‘Powered Gemini’ hand delivery truck. It is fitted with a 750 watt motor that runs in forward and reverse, operating at ideal walking speeds. It can move up to 445kg of goods for 2 miles if necessary. With such heavy loads, the motor provides that initial movement, meaning the operator is not faced with a massive effort to get a load moving. This is seen as the main advantage of the new truck – savings to industry in terms of injury claims, reduced workforce burn-out, lessened work related injury, and enabling greater diversity of workforce by empowering operatives who previously have felt less able to work in a physically demanding role.
Neil Duggan, regional sales manager for Magline, said “We have estimated that the Powered Gemini Hand Delivery Truck can pay for itself in as little as six months in terms of savings to the company in route delivery efficiency and work related injury and claims.”
Another first for the Powered Gemini is the nitrogen inflated pneumatic tyres, delaying the necessity for re-inflation by up to six times.
