Demand planning to transform working at Arco

Safety clothing and equipment giant Arco says it has selected Infor’s supply chain management software to boost customer service, streamline global sourcing, improve forecasting and optimise inventory its levels.

The company is buying Infor SCM Demand Planning and expects to go live in August for 30 users. Lisa Johnson, senior group materials manager at Arco, says that having reviewed several solutions, Arco went for Infor, because it met its business requirements and Infor has a good track record. She also comments that Infor’s forecasting accuracy is impressive, auguring well for inventory optimisation. “Our previous method of forecasting simply wasn’t scalable to keep pace with the increasing demands of our customers and for the long term needs of the business,” she says. “Infor SCM Demand Planning stood out from the crowd, with its depth of functionality and user-friendliness in particular. “We were impressed with the dashboard interface, which has exception management capabilities to enable staff to view and solve issues, rather than spending valuable time looking for them. We can also be more proactive in our forecasting and drive greater performance from our vendors, as we can provide earlier and more accurate forward visibility of orders.”
